Don’t you just love it when your gas bill starts going down?
And the sun starts coming out, the grass starts growing, the air starts to smell of clippings, charcoal smoke and steak, and your mind’s eye can’t help but imagine all the good times that await you over the coming months…ah, so do I.
Finally, it’s May. Years like this one, we get a repreive from an already-mild winter. We have warm weather before it’s even Memorial Day. We mow for the first time before we even get our taxes filed–and it doesn’t even make us mad. I love May. With it comes the end of my winter and spring deadlines, and the first part of the calendar year when I can even begin to think about taking a vacation. It sort of renews my hope for the future and my faith in human nature.
This year, with May comes a chance for you, the fans, to win some great prizes!
I’m on the hunt for new fans. I have promised that once I reached 200 likes on my facebook fan page, I would draw 5 names and award those folks with cool prizes, like t-shirts, stickers, and more. Well, we’ve reached that goal. And the drawing is going to be either Thursday, May 10, or Friday, May 11. But it’s not too late! For every 20 additional fans OVER 200, I will add at LEAST one prize to the drawing pile. If it goes really well, I could be drawing ten prizes. Or twenty! Or…you get the picture. The drawing will be held live on my Facebook page, with updates for prizes drawn.
So, if you’re a facebook member, but not an official “fan,” there is a link to the right of this post that you can click to get into the drawing, if you do it soon. If you ARE a fan, you’re already in the running! I will get the prizes to you, either USPS or hand-delivery, as location and time allows.
In other news…well, I don’t have a lot I can report right now…but I will say I’ve been thinking a lot about the next project. So many considerations–timing, funding, music selection…but I don’t want to rush it. I’m hoping to do some more great writing between now and then, and giving you all something worth waiting for. But boy, would I love to get back into the studio and get cracking on some of the newer music…like “One of the Good Ones” and “It’s Only Slander if it Isn’t True.”
I’d also like to perfect a mint limeade recipe. Thank you, Bountiful Baskets!
Now, before I get any more link-happy, I want to thank you all and wish you the best of the rest of the week! And may the odds be ever in your favor! 😉
