And this husband won’t kiss his wife goodnight, tonight

People wait and wonder just for news that can’t be good

Prayers go up from everywhere

This family slept safe and sound all night, last night

And today began the same as yesterday

Tonight they’re scattered, lost for what to do

Where will they be going to?

Hospitals, churches, homes of friends

Somebody’s always needin’ one

It crosses the oceans, there’s no hiding place

An ache so deep it defies time and space
